Minister praises ARL contribution in oil, gas sector

ISLAMABAD: Dr Asim Hussain, Federal Minister for Petroleum and Natural Resources, has appreciated the efforts made by the Attock Group of Companies for their achievements in the oil and gas sector.

Hussain was addressing the Attock Refinery Limited (ARL) Long Service Awards Ceremony for 2009/10 at ARL, Morgah, Rawalpindi on Friday as chief guest.

Shuaib A Malik, Group Regional Chief Executive, Attock Oil Group, M Adil Khattak, Chief Executive Officer, ARL, and senior management and employees of the ARL also attended the ceremony.

Hussain emphasised that education is the right of every Pakistani as it changes the vision, philosophy and thinking of the entire nation towards prosperity.

Pakistan Peoples Party considers workers as its main strength and, therefore, accords priority to resolving their issues and problems, he said.

He also appreciated the environment-friendly refining and production processes of ARL.

Dr Hussain said that the long service awards ceremony is a source of inspiration and encouragement for the employees who have served major part of their life for the development of ARL and congratulated all award winners and prayed for progress of the company.

The minister said that he has included Shuaib A Malik, Group Regional Chief Executive, Attock Oil Group, in the recently constituted “Think-tank on Integrated Energy Sustainability” in view of his vast experience, contribution and positive approach so that the government can be able to devise policies and strategies for streamlining the energy sector.

He assured ARL of his complete support in its forthcoming refinery expansion and upgradation projects.

Hussain greatly appreciated the peaceful working environment and comradeship among workers and management of ARL. ARL is progressing in its production and standards and is an example for others to emulate, he said. Khattak in his address of welcome thanked the federal minister for gracing the occasion.
